Dr. Barry Howson

VP of Academics, Dean of Seminary

Dr. Barry Howson serves as Vice President of Academics and Dean of the Seminary, and Professor of Theology at Heritage College & Seminary. His teaching integrates biblical, historical, systematic, and pastoral theology, equipping students to serve the Church with theological depth and pastoral wisdom.

Through his teaching, scholarship, and decades of pastoral ministry, Dr. Howson seeks to form students who are grounded in Scripture, attentive to church history, and committed to faithful gospel ministry in contemporary contexts.

Dr. Howson has served in pastoral ministry for over four decades, including:

  •  Teaching Pastor, Heritage Fellowship Baptist Church, Ancaster ON (2007-present)
  • Interim Pastor, Westside Baptist Church, Hamilton ON (2005-2006)
  • Interim and Senior Pastor, Vankleek Hill Baptist Church (1997-2001)
  • Senior Pastor, Dalesville Baptist Church (1985-1995)
  • Senior Pastor, Lachute Baptist Church (1985-1990)
  • Youth Pastor, Wilmar Heights Baptist Church under Pastor John Crozier (1980-1985)

He is ordained with FEB Central and has contributed to denominational leadership, including service on the Affirmation of Faith Committee (2023-2025).
