Recreation

Athletics and recreation at Heritage offer students meaningful opportunities to care for their physical well‑being while navigating the academic and spiritual rhythms of College and Seminary life. Whether unwinding with a workout after a full day of classes, joining an organized team, or participating in intramurals, students are encouraged to stay active and connected throughout the semester.

Heritage’s athletic facilities include a full‑size gymnasium with a cushioned hardwood floor, as well as a well‑equipped fitness centre, supporting both structured programming and independent fitness routines.

Team Sports

Heritage offers a variety of organized team sports each year, based on student interest and league availability. Opportunities may include basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer, and other sports. Team sign‑ups typically take place in September, with tryouts scheduled as needed.

Throughout the year, teams may participate in local leagues and selected tournaments, providing students with opportunities for competition, teamwork, and community engagement beyond campus.

For more information about team sports, please contact DJ Mudde, Dean of Students, at dmudde@heritagecs.edu.

Intramurals

Intramurals are open to both College and Seminary students and are designed to be inclusive, energetic, and fun. Organized by the Athletics Chair on Student Council, intramural events take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 9:45 p.m.

All skill levels are welcome, and students are encouraged to participate — whether by playing or cheering from the bleachers. Activities may include ball hockey, dodgeball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, soccer, and more.

For additional information or suggestions for new intramural activities, contact DJ Mudde, Dean of Students, at dmudde@heritagecs.edu.

Special Events

Throughout the year, Heritage hosts a variety of athletic special events that bring students, faculty, and staff together in a spirit of friendly competition and community. These may include students‑versus‑faculty/staff games and other tournaments. Past events have featured activities such as ball hockey, volleyball, and softball, with new events introduced each year.

Students will be notified about upcoming special events and opportunities to participate.
