Dr. Ian Vaillancourt

Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew; Director of Distance Learning

Dr. Ian J. Vaillancourt serves as Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew and Director of Distance Learning at Heritage College & Seminary. His teaching focuses on equipping students to read and interpret the Old Testament with theological depth, linguistic precision, and a Christ-centered framework.

Through his teaching and scholarship, Dr. Vaillancourt seeks to help students grasp the unity of Scripture, emphasizing whole-Bible biblical theology, rigorous exegesis, and the way Scripture interprets Scripture in service of Christ and his Church.

Ministry Experience

Dr. Vaillancourt has served in pastoral ministry and theological education, including:

  • Ordained pastor in The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptists in Canada (2015)
  • Fourteen years of service in senior and teaching pastoral roles
  • Transitioned to full-time teaching ministry in 2018

His work reflects a deep commitment to the authority of Scripture, Christ-centered interpretation of the Old Testament, and equipping the Church through faithful teaching and scholarship.
