Dr. Michael Haykin

Professor of Church History

Dr. Michael A. G. Haykin serves as Professor of Church History at Heritage College & Seminary, where he also directs the Andrew Fuller Centre, the ThM program, and Heritage Seminary Press. His teaching focuses on the history of the Church and Christian spirituality, helping students understand the development of theology and the lived experience of the Christian faith across the centuries.

Through his extensive scholarship and decades of teaching, Dr. Haykin seeks to help students appreciate the richness of the Church’s past, the importance of historical context, and the enduring relevance of historical theology for the life of the Church today.

Ministry Experience

Dr. Haykin has devoted his vocation to the study and teaching of Church history, including:

  • Over four decades of teaching as a church historian
  • Extensive writing, editing, and publishing in historical theology
  • Leadership in academic and research centres focused on Baptist and evangelical history

He is also actively involved in the life of the local church, contributing through teaching and theological education, including leading a summer theological fellowship at West Highland Baptist Church.
