To support our community, we offer a variety of scholarships, bursaries, grants, and discounts each year – recognizing achievement, encouraging growth, and helping ease financial barriers along the way.

Applications for each are available at the links below. An application deadline applies to many of these. If you have questions, please feel free to email the Scholarship Committee at scholarships@heritagecs.edu.

Scholarship Application Details

  • A limited number of scholarships, bursaries, and grants are awarded each year.
  • Scholarships, bursaries, and grants are awarded by the Scholarship Committee based on the perceived overall strength of the application and availability of scholarship funds.
  • Fully completed applications must include completed and submitted reference forms.
  • Applicants will be notified of the success of their application following the final decision of the Scholarship Committee.
  • All scholarships, bursaries, grants and discounts are awarded as credit on the student’s account.
  • Scholarship and Bursary recipients may be required to attend public meetings to recognize receipt of scholarship funds.
  • Scholarships, bursaries, grants, and discounts cannot be applied retroactively.

Scholarships

Heritage offers scholarships based on academic merit.

This scholarship is open to new full-time college students based on their top 6 grade 12 U and M-level courses. Students who enter with an 85% average, and maintain a 3.5 GPA are eligible to receive $500 per academic year (the student must maintain a 3.5 GPA in the Fall term to retain the award in the Winter term; 50% of the award will be awarded each term). Those who have written the SAT for admission to Heritage must have received a score of 1200 to meet eligibility to receive this scholarship, and those who have written the CLT for admission to Heritage must have received a score of 83 to meet eligibility receive this scholarship. This scholarship will be automatically awarded to the first 10 applicants to confirm their acceptance at Heritage by May 31st, complete their pre-registration by June 30th, and meet the academic criteria listed above.

Bursaries

Heritage awards bursaries to students based on financial need and the overall strength of the application. Bursaries can be applied for each year.

The Bowden Family Bursary is awarded to one graduating college or seminary student who is passionate about and committed to pastoral ministry. Awarded to a selected student in the Winter semester.

Open to: Any pastoral studies student in their final year of studies

The Dwayne Francois Memorial Bursary is awarded to one full-time college student who is proven in their academics, student life, and local church engagement. Preference is given to a student focusing on Youth, Worship, Missions, or Pastoral Leadership. Awarded to a selected student – $500 in the Fall term, and $500 in the Winter term.

The Heritage Bursary is granted to students based on the individuals demonstrated financial need. Heritage Bursary funds are subsequent to OSAP, or OSAP equivalent, eligibility. Bursaries may be available as funds are donated for general student assistance. In an attempt to be responsible in the distribution of these funds, all applicants are required to complete the Declaration and Bursary Application form. Grants

Heritage offers the following grants to assist students in receiving biblical education. 

The Student Church Matching Grant is for full-time certificate or degree students who are financially supported by their home church. If the student’s home church sponsors an amount up to $750 (non-partner church), Heritage will contribute up to $250 to a student account. If the students home church sponsors an amount up to $1500 (partner church), Heritage will contribute up to $500 to a student account. The church’s donation will be applied to the student’s account immediately, and the portion from Heritage will be applied to the student’s account in the following term. In order to receive Heritage’s funds, have your church complete the application and send a cheque or e-transfer to Heritage College & Seminary on your behalf. This grant is available annually.

Heritage College & Seminary makes available to graduates of the Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Religious Education, and Bachelor of Church Music degrees the opportunity to audit one, three credit hour seminary course with a 50% tuition discount each academic year. To register for a class or upgrade a class to take it for credit, please fill out the Alumni Grant Authorization form.

Discounts

Heritage offers tuition discounts based on eligibility. Applications are required once a year for each discount. Please Note: Students cannot receive two discounts simultaneously.

The Married Student Discount is available when both spouses are enrolled in the same term. The spouse of a full-time student will receive a 25% tuition discount. The spouse eligible for the discount is the one taking the fewer credit hours. The course(s) must be taken for credit.

The Missionary Partner Discount is available to college students whose parent(s) are employed by an approved local or global mission agency and who enroll at Heritage in an undergraduate certificate or degree before the age of 21. Students must maintain an AGPA of C+ or higher (2.3-4.0 AGPA) to receive the discount year to year. The discount provides 10% off tuition to children of Missionary Partner Personnel.

The Summer Camp Tuition Discount is awarded to college students and includes a 5% tuition discount. This discount is granted to students who are working (min. 6 weeks full-time) at a pre- approved Christian Camp or para-church camp organization the summer preceding their academic studies. Students may apply for the discount each year they work at a Summer Christian Camp. Previous Summer Camp employment is not accepted. All applications are subject to the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.

Seminary

Scholarships

Heritage offers scholarships based on academic merit.

The Ewen Scholarship Fund is awarded to one full-time, returning seminary student who is in their second year of studies or beyond, possesses an interest in domestic or international missions, and has a 3.3 GPA. Priority is given to students affiliated with the Metropolitan Bible Church or Associated Gospel Church association.

Full-time students enrolled in the Master of Divinity or the Master of Theological Studies program will automatically receive a discount of $100 per course. Students must enter from a degree program with a 3.5 AGPA, or maintain a 3.5 GPA in a degree program, to receive the scholarship. Students must register by the fall and winter registration deadlines set by the registrar’s office in order to have their marks assessed for this scholarship. (Certificate students do not qualify for this scholarship)

Professor Emeritus of Theological Studies, Dr. Stanley K. Fowler, passed away in August 2025. We are grateful for the remarkable impact that Stan made on his students, colleagues, pastors, and fellow believers as he informed and brought clarity to complex theological issues for the Canadian Church. As David Barker said about his colleague of almost 30 years: “[Stan’s] faith in a sovereign, wise, caring, loving, and gracious God never wavered. Dr. Stanley K. Heritage offers the following grants to assist students in receiving biblical education. 

The Church Planting Grant exists to support students who are enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Church Planting and demonstrate clear, prayerful, and strategic intentions to pursue church planting vocationally. (Only applied to the five courses specifically associated with the Graduate Certificate in Church Planting program).

Heritage Theological Seminary is pleased to offer a one-year Heritage Partner Church Staff Discount to all Heritage Partner churches. If the paid ministry staff’s home church sponsors 10% of the student’s tuition cost, Heritage will contribute an additional 10% tuition discount to the student account. If the paid ministry staff’s home church does not sponsor the student’s tuition cost, Heritage will contribute a 5% tuition discount to the student account.

In order to receive Heritage’s portion of the funds, have your church complete the application and send a cheque or e-transfer to Heritage College & Seminary on your behalf. The church’s donation will be applied to the student’s account immediately, and the contribution from Heritage will be applied to the student’s account in the term following a churches donation.
