Vice President of Academics and Seminary Dean Announcement
Heritage College & Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David Charles Robinson as Vice President of Academics and Seminary Dean.
Dr. Robinson brings extensive experience in both pastoral ministry and academic leadership. He has served as Senior Pastor of Westminster Chapel at High Park in Toronto since 2014, following earlier pastoral roles. For more than a decade, he has also taught at the university and seminary level, primarily as an Adjunct Professor at Tyndale University. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology (Patristics) from the University of St. Michael’s College and has contributed significant leadership to the Evangelical Theological Society (Ontario/Quebec Region).
Dr. Robinson is widely respected for his thoughtful scholarship, commitment to historic Christian orthodoxy, and passion for equipping students for ministry. He and his wife, Megan, have been married for 23 years and have three children: Samuel, Leah, and Lucas.
Honouring Dr. Barry Howson
As we welcome Dr. Robinson, we also express our deep gratitude to Dr. Barry Howson, who is retiring after 25 years of faithful service to Heritage College & Seminary, most recently as Vice President of Academics. Dr. Howson has been a pillar of our academic community since joining the faculty in 2001. With degrees from the University of Waterloo, Central Baptist Seminary, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from McGill University, Dr. Howson has taught in the areas of theology, New Testament, worldviews/apologetics, and church history. His decades of leadership and pastoral experience — as a youth pastor, lead pastor, interim pastor, and ongoing pulpit supply preacher — have shaped generations of students and enriched churches across Canada. We are profoundly thankful for Dr. Howson’s wisdom, humility, scholarship, and steady leadership. His service has been a blessing to the Heritage community, and we pray God’s richest encouragement for him and his wife, Sharon, in this next season.
